With this devotional vocabulary as our focus, we craft each piece with silver foiled stones for shine, brass to hold them together and gold plated all over to make devotional Indian art available beyond the temple wall as accessible luxury. The Pichwai tradition began in 17th century Nathdwara, Rajasthan. Painted cloth panels hung behind Shrinathji in the temple, depicting his daily darshan, the seasons of Braj, and the lotus, peacock, cow, and gopi motifs that have become the visual signature of the tradition. Mortantra's Pichwai Inspired jewellery translates that visual vocabulary into wearable form, with gold plated metalwork holding the miniature at the centre. THE PIECE A jhumka built around Shrinathji at the top. The miniature shows the Nathdwara form in profile, set into a teardrop panel finished with a fine Kundan outline. Two peacocks lean in from either side green Meenakari tails answered by Kundan set bodies in red framing a domed gold plated jhumka with a floral medallion at its centre. The fringe is layered pearl strands ending in gold ghungroo, light enough to swing as you move.
